On October 18, 2018, Dreamcatchers Empowerment Network came together at the Hilton Garden Inn in Fairfield, to celebrate the success of their clients as they recognized those who have been hired during the past year. This year’s Client Success Recognition Event’s theme was “Life is like a Story, Make Yours a Bestseller.” Regina Kaiser, Dreamcatchers Executive Director said, “We all have a story to tell, our own personal journey.  Even how we arrived here today.  Our lives have a beginning and an end, but it’s the journey, the pages in the middle that define us and refine us along the way.” The event was another huge success with more than 80 clients, families, and employers, along with state and county officials, attending.  Opening remarks were provided by Assemblymember Jim Frazier’s office.

This year’s keynote speaker was Patricia Curtin, who is a Dreamcatchers’ Board Member.  Patricia shared her very touching and personal story of having a family member with lived experience. The day was filled with many wonderful stories of perseverance and inspiration from their clients as they shared how Dreamcatchers and finding employment has changed their lives and family members who shared how being employed has changed their loved ones’ lives.  The event also included a silent auction and raffle.

Here are a few examples of what their clients shared about Dreamcatchers:

“From the very start you took a very active interest in me.  You took time to get to know me and my disability. Never once did you make light of my fears. Instead you taught me tools that would help me be a success in my job! I now have the job of my dreams and am so very happy and I owe it all to Dreamcatchers. Thank you.” – Beth C.

“I’d like to thank Dreamcatchers for giving me the confidence during interviews and helping me find a job that I love.  My experience with Dreamcatchers has been an exceptional one.  They were on top of everything and followed up on things that I needed to be successful in my new career.”  – Courtney O.

This celebration event provides a great way to honor and shine the spotlight on Dreamcatchers’ clients who have worked so hard for all their accomplishments and how they have taken charge of changing their lives.  Congratulations to all the Dreamcatchers and their continued success!
