Maria Chavez, Dreamcatchers office assistant and records clerk, was selected as the 2019 Workforce Champion by the Solano County Workforce Development Board.  Maria came to Dreamcatchers 17 years ago as a client of Department of Rehabilitation after a car accident where she lost her left arm and dislocated her knee.  It was her oldest daughter that inspired Maria to keep moving forward in her recovery journey and not give up.

Maria received her award surrounded by her daughter and her co-workers. She was also recognized with certificates of achievement and perseverance from California Congress Member John Garamendi, Congress Member Mike Thompson, Senator Bill Dodd and State Treasurer Fiona Ma.
